About the Journal

RIAS only publishes original manuscripts, which may take the form of scientific articles, research-creation projects or book reviews. The aim is to promote publications by established researchers, as well as contributions and publications by graduate students.

RIAS publishes two thematic issues a year. Proposals for thematic issues must be submitted to the Editorial Board. Once their proposal has been approved, the issue editors are responsible for selecting the texts by issuing calls for publication or by contacting specific researchers directly. RIAS also gives priority to the publication of proceedings from conferences organised by the Centre for Studies and Research on India, South Asia and the Diaspora (CERIAS), among others.

RIAS adheres to the principle of blind peer review. For potential publications, manuscripts submitted to the journal are first read and accepted by the Editorial Board before being sent for external assessment. The evaluation is carried out entirely anonymously by at least two professors or researchers recognised in the field of research of the text. While leaving considerable room for manoeuvre in the examination of the article, an evaluation grid drawn up in advance by the Editorial Board is also provided to the evaluators to assess, in particular, the conceptual rigour, originality and interest of the text in the advancement of knowledge. By proceeding in this way, it is easier for the RIAS committee to harmonise the various assessments and determine the admissibility of an article.

Depending on the comments provided by the reviewers, any proposed article may therefore be published as is, but the Editorial Board may also request minor or major revisions from the authors. In addition, the Editorial Board reserves the right not to accept a manuscript if it does not meet the requirements set by the journal. The authors' intellectual or political positions are their own responsibility.

The journal applies the open access model by making its articles available free of charge, without restrictions on use or access, on its online platform. By publishing their work in RIAS, authors accept the "Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)" copyright licence; another CC BY licence may be chosen by the author if he/she expressly requests it.
