Abstract

To plan and to programme, in sociocultural community development or in social intervention, their are concepts that refer to the same action, though emphasizing in different levels of abstraction or concretion. It consists of identifying the social, economic and political trends that have taken us to the present situation; to foresee as far as possible what is going to happen; to value the alternatives that are opened before us; to design the strategies most adapted to confront the future; bear the obstacles and the opportunities in mind, for it. Definitively, it consists of assuming a methodology of work that forces us to put permanently in interaction the social reality, our professional practice and the scenario of future that we try to reach, with what it carries unavoidable references and political implications.
