Abstract

The theoretical approach of the experience is based on the empowerment and the advocacy. The most relevant results of the process of animation developed are the following ones: there was realized, for the first time in Spain, the first manifestation of Africans auto-organized and auto-managed by themselves. There has been formed an immigrants’ very solid association by capacity of autonomous organization of actions, activities and services, and a great social impact in the city. The group and the association are turning into creators and cultural producers for the rest of the city. The article explains how there has developed the process of intervention and animation, some possibilities and limitations of the experience. In addition, explicit the theoretical approach that bases the intervention as well as the methodological innovative aspects of the experience.
