Abstract

It is following the lectures given by Jean-Claude Gillet in Lisbon that the training in sociocultural community development offered at the École Supérieure d’Éducation de l’Institut Polytechnique has been rearranged around, on the one hand, the complex relationship that animators weave in their professional activity with decision-makers, elected officials and employers, and, on the other hand, the centrality of professional action allowing both the production of knowledge and the development of skills to decide and act. The following text discusses the origins and sustainability of this enduring legacy.
