Abstract

The central argument stressed the importance of Participatory Action Research in coordination with the Socio-Cultural Animation for population growth in their capabilities of citizen participation. It builds on the conceptual frame of the collective construction of knowledge by social groups and its relevance as a tool for building social demands and the strengthening of social and civic participation. These central tenets are illustrated with an experience that we are developing, with groups of leaders and members of popular organizations and educational institutions in the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires, with the objective of strengthening the process of building a social demand for learning young and old permanent-income sectors. Criteria are presented to validate the results achieved in this experiment.
