Based on socio-cultural psychology and on the articulation around the notions of logic and meaning, the study investigates the practices of the Centre socioculturel de Prélaz-Valency in Lausanne (Switzerland) with regard to the participation of young people in the development and evaluation of the activities organised. The survey shows that these young people (girls and boys aged 11 to 25) continually propose and evaluate these activities. However, they do so through forms and content linked to their life course, individual and in group. This operation has no legitimacy in the professional culture of the sociocultural community developpers, who unsuccessfully request formal communication methods. The result is a paradoxical dynamic: a surplus of participation that generates a turbulent movement rather than coherent emancipatory processes.
